Interesting Discoveries and a Life Update

Posted by Sunira under Uncategorized

I’ve had some time to research what programmers are capable of producing using web 2.0 technologies. The spectrum of creative products out there is massive! I was truly inspired by how awesome and more importantly, useful, these applications were. The applications I wind up using the most often are Picnik and Mint. Both are wonderful services! Fotoflexer is a great alternative to Picnik if you want a 100% free service.

I realize I fit in so much better in a professional work environment than I ever did at school. I’m really enjoying the work atmosphere, the wide range of ages and experiences. It’s wonderful.

Happy late Easter to everyone. :) Church service was basically awesome this year. I really like it when a church delivers relevant and challenging messages. I like being challenged, my beliefs, how I live my life etc. Easter is that time of year when I remember more vividly that my transgressions never have to hold me down and that I can always learn, and strive to be a better person, and a better friend of God. I made a big mistake(which at the time was on purpose) a year and a half ago where I dropped my standards and surprised myself with my capacity to do evil and self-serving things. It’s really put into perspective how much I need to value my relationships, especially the one I have with God. Forgiveness really takes a brick off you coming from both your God and the people you love and have maligned. It’s still a very personal faith and most people aren’t savvy to it but I’m opening up.  I signed up for community groups this week. I’m a little scared but I hope It’ll be good to connect with other Christian women. Anyway, I know family reads this, but lets not make it a conversation topic. Thanks. :)

A small blessing (actually two) has come into my life these past weeks. After missing my dear Venus for so long, I finally got two more cats to come live with me. Loving animals are really a wonderful thing to have in the home. Here they are sleeping on my bed. :) The small one in the bed is Molly, the one sleeping on her head in the back is Missy. Rambunctious things they are. Missy is 3 years older than Molly but they get along(most of the time).

Work’s been great so far. I have wonderful co-workers and I think they like me too. :) Its really wonderful to walk with people from all walks of life, with technology as the common attribute. It makes me happy. They all have great advice to give me and I appreciate it. I really value the experiences and lessons older people learned while making mistakes or good decisions. Plus, many of them are savvy to how success works in that specific work environment, which is also helpful to me. I want to be a servant leader, and it seems my workplace is a welcoming place to practice it.

I’m on vacation for Spring Break and we’re headed to the islands! The photographic opportunities are going to be endless. I am SO hyped thinking about it. This time I actually have the money to blow up my images that I take…and I intend to take some very picturesque ones!

Also, I was very moved by a news story I read today. I hope I’m as brave as them someday.

My lasagna is done. :) Gotta run…
